Our vision for the future
Our vision is to build an engaged community that takes an active part in shaping the future, and being guardians/kaitiaki of the boat house and the jetty.
Four Pillars of Purpose
The Trust has four pillars of purpose for its membership:
Bring the community together to enjoy the jetty and boat house and create new friendships on an inter-generational basis.
Give back to the community through partnerships with those who help disadvantaged people.
Protect our treasures/toanga.
Enhance and improve the jetty’s facilities and landscape.
Why be a member?
As a founding member of the new era, you will shape the future of the boat house. Benefits include:
Voting rights, for example the name of the boat house, logo, and certain renovation decisions.
Three social events a year to connect with other members.
Hiring rights for the building (only members will be able to hire it for events).
Giving back to the community
The Trust is looking to form partnerships with three or four organisations who will be able to use the facilities for free when supporting disadvantaged people experience the marine environment or use the facilities to provide education.
